Life in the Fast Lane…..

Saturday the 30th of November saw the Camera Club’s 2nd visit to Europe’s largest Ferrari dealership located in nearby Swindon. As with our previous visit we were greeted with an “access all areas” welcome, free to roam wherever our lens took us.

The immaculate large ground floor showroom lured us in to a world of luxury. We were met with the sight of row after row of polished streamlined engineering, open doors leading to luxurious interiors and the sleek engines within; here stood an enviable collection of designer metal the majority in their flagship red. We set to work to photograph these beautiful ladies equal in the beauty of any catwalk model.

As we moved to the second floor further delights awaited us, amongst the Ferraris were many a Maserati plus an Austin Martin DB9, Audi A8, Rolls Royce Ghost and further vintage models including Mini and the very rare 1938 4/4 Le Mans Morgan. Here, not only were we given open access once more but the staff were incredibly flexible and willingly moved cars to enable us to shoot desirable groups etc
After a very welcome coffee break we rounded off the afternoon in the workshop, again in immaculate surroundings more rare delights awaited us including an F40 and F50 side by side. We were once again free to shoot from every angle including underneath and within dismantled engines.

This visit gave all those who participated, which included a wide range of experience, abilities and photographic equipment, an opportunity to shoot something very different.
We would like to publically acknowledge the hospitality of the garage and look forward to future visits.
