The first meeting of 2018 was a members participation evening in which attendees were invited to present up to 5 images (prints or digitally projected images) and share the reasoning and significance of the images. This unearthed a diverse range of images from around the globe, and even into distant space, along with insightful and often amusing explanations behind their selection. Sometimes these gave a very personal reflection on a special event or life experience that had been captured in the moment.

The evening concluded with a couple of short videos featuring ‘Images that changed the World’ and the winners of the 2017 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest. It was generally agreed that the evening had been enjoyable and a similar event should be included in a future programme
