The club meeting on Tuesday, 24th May was listed as ‘Portrait Night’. It was a practical and instructional session to help improve member’s skills in taking Portrait images with their cameras.

The session was organised by chairman, Andrew Purdy. He brought along a portable and collapsible background screen frame complete with a green colour background cloth.

The session model was a young man who was a proficient archer. He brought props, including a powerful bow, quiver with arrows and was dressed in appropriate loose fitting clothing.

Andy briefed us upon the practical aspects of portrait photography and explained how to change or alter the image background by manipulation and adjustment with imaging software.

The session was a success with club members taking many images and discussing the results with friends. Several of us helped new beginner members with camera settings and encouraged them to have a go.
