“Sliding into Digital” Talk – 25th April 2017

Leo Rich, from Salisbury, shared his experiences in making the transition from slide film into the digital era in a very humorous and engaging manner.  No doubt the skills he acquired in ensuring that slide film exposure was correct stood him in great stead to eventually move to digital photography where he still maintains the maxim of “getting it right in the camera”

He illustrated his talk with many examples of his early slides that had been scanned to produce some marvellous images before showing his digital images. His love of travelling, especially to India, and his desire to understand the culture and traditions of the local people, were amply reinforced by his engaging images and story telling skills.

In achieving his life long ambition of photographing tigers in the wild, Leo has captured some fearsome and outstanding images of these beautiful animals which he shared with us at the end of his talk.
