AGM and then the gloves were on – February 27th 2018

The Club held its Annual General Meeting, which was well attended, despite the bitterly cold weather and threat of snow. After the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer had delivered their reports, election of the Committee then took place. All the current incumbents were re-elected to serve for the next 12 months. Revisions to the Club’s Constitution were accepted unanimously with the proviso that further consideration is given to the date of the AGM and the attendance levels required to ensure its democratic meaningfulness.

After the AGM concluded, and some hot refreshments were taken, Mark Page from Stratton Camera Club gave a presentation on “Sports Photography”. This heavily focused on boxing for which the presenter has great passion and a very detailed knowledge of the sport. A range of images from both professional boxing matches as well as local boxing events were shown and some of the technical photographic challenges outlined. Mark encouraged the audience to be proactive, research local sporting events and then go along and start taking photographs.
